SUMMERSIDE, PE—Harrison Wood of the Charlottetown Marks work Wearhouse Islanders has been named the NB/PEI Major Midget Hockey League player of the week for the week ending February 14th. The weekly selection is presented by Phantomwear.

The rookie defenseman led the Islanders to a successful week of play, as they won two of three games. In Wednesday’s 3-0 win over the rival Cornwall Thunder, Wood scored two goals, both on the powerplay. In Saturday’s 6-2 loss to the Miramichi Rae’s Yamaha Rivermen, he also scored a goal from the blueline. He saved his best performance for Sunday’s 5-4 win over the Saint John Vitos, as he scored twice and added an assist. In total, he scored five goals and one assist in three weekend games.

Wood and the Thunder cap off their regular season schedule with a road game this weekend. Following a Thursday game against the Charlottetown Islanders, the Thunder will travel to Miramichi to take on the Rivermen at the Lord Beaverbrook. Gametime is 7:00pm.
